The tip off to the 2013 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament is just around the corner and fans are gearing up to go into the traditional synchronized frenzy. This phenomenon takes a firm hold of basketball lovers from the middle of March until the first week of April and declares the ultimate NCAA Collegiate Basketball Champions.

March Madness 2013Winner predictions will surely come in seconds after the beginning of Selection Sunday when contending teams and matchups are announced. The “First Four” matches get the battle rolling March 19-20 on TruTV (DISH Channel 204) and will set the pace for the next three weeks of hoop-shooting action. Until then, we can only concentrate on top teams that are certain to make the cut and provide the nation with plenty of don’t-miss March Madness excitement.

Must-Watch Teams in the March Madness 2013 NCAA Tournament

Indiana – Before the season began, the Hoosiers were pegged as the team to beat. Currently sitting at #2 in the National Polls, Indiana should go deep into the tournament and provide ample action plays while getting there.

Kansas – Look for the Jayhawks to secure a #1 seed, and when they’re hot they are literally on fire. So far this year, Kansas’ play gets a bit erratic after halftime, but they can bring it all home to the Dust Bowl if they eradicate this tendency.

Gonzaga – The Bulldogs currently are #1 in the nation statistically, but seeing how they will hold up against “power conference” teams will make for great March Madness TV viewing. Winning the championship may be out of reach if Gonzaga can’t keep up the pace, but they are within an arm’s reach of causing an upset.

Duke – As one of college hoops’ marquee teams, the Blue Devils are a lock to secure a spot in the 2013 NCAA Tournament. However, fans will be eager to see how Duke’s less than stellar road performance during the regular season will pan itself out as the Blue Devils compete against more physical teams from other conferences.

Miami – Somewhat under the radar but ready to bust out with a category five, the Hurricanes should provide some good viewing this year during March Madness. The only thing that could diminish their chances of going far right now is their lack of experience as a team at this advanced level of tournament play.
