superman vs ironmanDo you ever wonder what would happen if two of 2013′s biggest movie blockbusters went head to head? What if Iron Man and Superman were to clash – who would prosper? In honor of the two mega blockbusters – this year’s Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel – we had the same question. So let’s take a look at Superman vs. Ironman:

Super Powers

The first aspect to examine when sizing up these two heroes is their super powers; a big advantage for Superman, who can fly, possesses super strength and is bulletproof. Iron Man can fly too – but only with the help of his metal suit. Iron Man’s suit is also equipped with other neat little gadgets for use in combat, but nothing quite stacks up to Superman’s natural ability.

Advantage – Superman

Brains

This is the category where Iron Man has a big advantage. Tony Stark is a genius / master engineer and problem solver. Although Superman is an alien from the planet Krypton, he grew up as a common boy in a farming community. If it came down to a battle of brains and wit, we’d give Iron Man the edge.

Advantage – Iron Man

Weaknesses

Superman cripples near Kryptonite or when a Good Samaritan is put in harm’s way. Iron Man’s biggest weakness is his assistant/girlfriend Pepper Potts. Additionally, everyone knows that Tony Stark is Iron Man, whereas Superman’s alter ego is hush-hush.

Advantage – Draw

Resume

Iron Man took out Whiplash, tamed an evil associate that was using his armor technology for evil, and defeated the Mandarin. Superman defeated an alien race determined to destroy humanity as we know it and repopulated Earth with the people of Krypton.

Advantage – Superman

So who do you think would win in a fight – the “Man of Steel” or Iron Man? (For more analysis, check out this Fanboy Faceoff.) It’s hard not to side with Superman, simply because he’s nearly invincible. You’d have to think that he would at least wear out Tony Stark over time. But instead of fighting, wouldn’t it be nice to see these two heroes set aside their Marvel and DC comic book roots to team up? I think that’s one fight we could all get on board with.
